Our Impact

Our Mission

ish brings artists and communities together to explore
Jewish and Israeli cultural traditions through the arts.

How We Do It

We center our work around a signature biennial arts & culture festival. We bring artists and communities together to explore Jewish and Israeli cultural traditions through the arts. Our new programs spotlight Jewish diversity and further connect our community to Israel.
We bridge cultural and political divides through new and moving works of art. We work as a community with a welcoming and engaging tone. Together, we explore what it means to be Jewish & Israeli, empowering our identities through the arts.
We engage and inspire teens as the operators of the Cincinnati Jewish Teen Initiative. We'll reach over 800 teens through on this groundbreaking journey.
We draw attention to new artists and small businesses, supporting our Jewish & Israeli communities in a time when they need our community’s stewardship. We prioritize local artists, while supporting trends in the national arts & culture landscape.
We remove barriers to access, allowing us to reach under-engaged individuals and families. We focus our attention and resources on arts and cultural programs. We return Jewish programming to its roots in historic OTR and downtown.
We are radically collaborative, reaching across every sector and corner of the Jewish (and ish!) community to make our tent bigger and more creative, together.

The ish Way

inclusive

We welcome you as you are, as a person, as a Jew, Jew-ish , and more. We can't and won't tell you how to be you, but we will lift you up. This is the approach and attitude we take in welcoming and representing diverse Jewish voices.

creative & experiential

We believe that the arts, culture, and the experiential nature of Judaism are critical to our core needs; they enhance our quality of life, and our ability to see the world with a broad and open lens. Without ART the EARTH would be EH.

supportive

Through strategic community partnerships we support and enhance new and existing programming with a methodology of engagement that is innovative, creative and open.

Who We Serve

ish connects older Jewish adults with our community, affirming the Jewish tradition of honoring our elders.
ish reaches 200 families with young children, with plans to expand to more family programming in the coming year.
ish supports over 50 local and regional artists through our biennial festival, “ishues”, and holiday box programs.
ish produces our signature biennial festival, reaching an estimated 7,500 Jewish Cincinnatians. This represents one of the largest and most diverse events in our community's history.
ish creates engagement opportunities for the 46% of Jewish young adults

who live downtown and uptown, bringing Jewish experiences to both familiar and new spaces.
