Fall 2023 Artist in Residence Project:
Between September '23 to January '24, ish explored the theme of אמהות - אי מהות (imahut - mahut) - 'Motherhood/Essence & the Feminine Divine' through the lens of eight artists from Israel and Cincinnati. Each artist created an original work and then reimagined four additional pieces, fostering a dynamic exchange of perspectives. This exhibition challenges conventional norms, celebrates diverse gender expressions, and highlights the importance of femininity, and the powerful connections women share between and across our communities. Re-Art Exhibit at the Cincinnati Skirball Museum: Over 150 folks joined us at the Re-Art Exhibit opening on Thursday evening, October 19th, to view eight artists' original works and their transformed, new interpretations by other artists in the show. Rooted in the theme of Motherhood/Essence & the Feminine Divine, this exhibition celebrates the power of women as community builders, organizers, and healers during times of change.
